My Joy Has Been Made Complete

and we are now a family of four. the sweetest thing...feeling this completeness, this wholeness within our family. knowing that this newest addition has created a settled-ness within my soul and within the soul of our family.

audrey linda beatrice collier was born on wednesday, november 23, 2011 at 10:53 p.m. she weighed 6 lb. 14 oz. and measured 19 3/4 inches in length!

i am vulnerable with emotion as i gently rock with and coo to my newborn daughter and at the same time i long to hold my older daughter in these same occupied arms. but my heart is joyful because i do make time to be present with each of them when i am with them...two loves each so precious.

we are doing well and adjusting pretty seamlessly (as much as you can with a newborn). God has been good to give us strength and rest and a baby who loves to sleep!

perhaps at another post i will write more about the beauty of giving birth to audrey and the obvious toil of it all. but for now i am enjoying being a mother of two. for crying tears for each of my girls (how torn it feels to both discipline the older child for hitting the younger while wanting to comfort them both at the same time--phew--talk about a heart for each of them)! for holding both of my daughters and for dreaming about life with the two of them.

we have been blessed. and our joy has been made complete.
